Constitution of the Argonne Engineering Golf League

ARTICLE I – Name and Purpose
Section A – Name
The name of the club shall be the Argonne Engineering Golf League.

 Section B – Purpose
The purpose of this club shall be to organize and promote golf competition on a handicap basis among all interested players.

ARTICLE II – Membership
All employees of Argonne National Laboratory, Chicago Operations Office, and people with informal ties to Argonne are eligible for membership.

ARTICLE III – Government
Section A – Officers
The officers of this club shall consist of a President, a Vice-President, Secretary(s), and Treasurer(s). The Vice-President is elected every two years, and the Secretary(s), and Treasurer(s) are elected annually. At the end of the two-year term, the President is succeeded by the Vice-President of the previous term. The function of the officers will be to conduct all business required in the operation of the League and initiate the formation of the League for each succeeding season. Officers must be employees of Argonne National Laboratory or Chicago Operations Office.

ARTICLE IV – Election
Section A – Time
The election of officers shall be held at the conclusion of each season after the annual tournament.
 
Section B – Nominations
Nominations shall be made by any member who desires to do so.
 
Section C – Voting
Each individual in the Golf League may cast one vote for each contested office.
 
Section D – Tenure of Office
Tenure of office shall be one year for the Secretary(s) and Treasurer(s) and two years for the President and Vice-President.
 
Section E – Vacancy
Any office which becomes vacant after the regular election shall be filled by an appointment of the League President.
 
ARTICLE V – Finance
 
Section A – Reports
The Treasurer(s) must keep a complete and accurate record of all transactions and be able to present a report to the Board of Directors of the Argonne Club quarterly or on demand.
 
Section B – Monies Received
A portion of the money taken in as dues ($1.00 per member) must be turned into the Argonne Club Treasurer not later than four weeks after the starting date of League Play.
 
ARTICLE VI – Approvals
 
Section A – Properties
All property purchased by this club with the approval of the Treasurer(s) of the League shall be listed and carried on inventory. Disposal of this property must have the approval of the Treasurer of the Argonne Club and the approvals prescribed in "Approvals Required on Commitments and Disbursements".
 
Section B – Outside Activities
Before arrangements are made concerning any outside activities, the approval of the Employee Representative of the Argonne Club must be obtained.
 
Section C – Scheduling
Before setting a definite date for any activity of the club, the Employee Services Representative of the Argonne Club must be consulted in order to avoid conflicts with other activities of the Argonne Club.

Section D – Constitution
a) This constitution may be amended when approved by the Officers of the League and Officers of the Argonne Club.
b) This constitution becomes effective when approved by the Officers of the League and Officers of the Argonne Club.
