(Wednesday,
July 1) is league competition at normal tee times. The contest
for this event is Fewest Putts. The prize is a sleeve of golf
balls. AEGL members must record the putts for each hole on their
scorecards to participate in the contest. League members who
have already won a weekly contest or haven’t paid their dues by
July 1, are ineligible to win the contest.
No one won the Event #13 contest (Closest to Pin #6). All names on the contest placard were either ineligible or not AEGL members.
3) George Grey won the Event #13 competition week Peoria with a Peoria net of 29.5. George is our first multiple Peoria winner for the season. The holes from which the Peoria handicap was determined were #3, 4, 5, 12, 13 and 14. As of this writing, 33 AEGL members are participating in the competition week Peoria. The payout for each competition week Peoria is $30. See the AEGL web site - http://www.cherrywood.com/golf - or consult a league officer for details regarding the optional competition week Peoria for the 2009 season.

Participation in the competition week Peoria is optional.
The entry fee is $15 per member for the 2009 season.
Rules of the Peoria:
An AEGL member can enter at any time and pay $15, but the sooner they enter, the more chances they have to win.
A Peoria participant can win more than once during the season.
Weekly payouts will be based on the number of Peoria participants as of the first competition week of the 2009 season (May 6).
Example: 32 participants @ $15 each = $480.00
16 competition weeks = $30.00 prize per week
How the Peoria works:
After all scorecards are turned in for a competition week, three numbers ranging from 1-9 are drawn. These are the holes that determine the Peoria handicap for all participants for the round based on their strokes on those holes. For participants playing the back nine, hole #10 is the same as #1, #11 is #2, #12 is #3, etc. for the purposes of the Peoria.
Once Peoria handicaps are determined for each participant, they are subtracted from the gross scores giving a net Peoria score for each participant.
The participant with the lowest net Peoria score for that round wins.
If more than one participant posts the lowest net Peoria score for a competition week, the prize for the week will be divided equally among the winning participants.
